Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route — 8-Day Wilderness Expedition

EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW

Safari Overview

If there is a route built for those who seek the extraordinary, it is the Lemosho. Beginning on the remote western slopes of Kilimanjaro at Londorossi Gate, this eight-day expedition traverses the mountain's wildest terrain — and rewards you with the highest summit success rate of any route (over 90%).

The first two days pass through untouched montane rainforest, where elephant tracks cross the trail and blue monkeys swing through the canopy. Emerging onto the vast Shira Plateau — a collapsed caldera at 3,600m — you'll enjoy 360-degree views stretching from Mount Meru to the Rift Valley.

The route then joins the Southern Circuit, traversing the Barranco Wall and ascending through the Karanga Valley before the final push from Barafu Camp. An additional acclimatisation day built into the itinerary means your body adapts gradually, dramatically reducing altitude sickness and maximising your summit chances.

This is our most recommended route for first-time and returning climbers alike — the perfect combination of wilderness immersion, gradual acclimatisation, and summit confidence.
